OmmWriter is one of those “distraction-free” writing apps which block out everything except the text you’re working on. It is supposed to be simple and beautiful, and judged on those criteria, it’s a winner.

I’m trying to buy software called OmmWriter but the App Store is throwing an error. That can’t be good for sales.

Hi OmmWriter team, I have to admit that when I first tried used OmmWriter I didn’t get it, so I left it to sit on my hard drive and be forgotten. Flash forward a few months to this very morning. I mistyped something in Alfred, my launcher of choice for my Mac. What it was I can’t remember, but what happens next I sure do. The top response that came up was OmmWriter. So on a whim I opened it. I lugged in some headphones and got to work transcribing some handwritten notes for a job I’m working on into a text file. That in itself is nothing special, but something magical happened. When I put my headphones in the noise of the open plan office faded away and my quickly scrawled how to notes grew into a much better and much more accurate draft of documentation. I understand what OmmWriter is about now. I get it. There is magic here and I just wanted to say thank you kindly for putting it out into the world to find where I could find it. I love it. Thank you.

First and foremost- THANK YOU! This program has done more than help me overcome my writer’s block. By giving me a new environment to write in; one that encourages my creativity, surrounds me with positive imagery and music, and literally validates every letter I type with a litte clickety- clack, I’ve been able to express my thoughts outside the confines of a word processer and experience my own self-expression in a new and exciting way that is unlike any other writing experience I’ve had. (Speaking to the effectiveness of your program, I had such a hard time typing this message in my web browser that I had to go back into OmmWriter, express my thoughts freely, and then copy and paste back into the browser. Thanks again, because you’ve given me a voice I would otherwise be unable to express!)

OmmWriter is a refreshing new text processor designed with focus and productivity in mind. The idea behind it is rooted in the belief that writing should be enjoyable, an intimate experience like connecting a pen with paper.

I just started using @Ommwriter and I love it. Distraction-free writing at its finest.

Any price they ask is not enough for such a wonderful app. I wish I could gift the paid version of the app to friends whom I feel would appreciate it. I would feel as if I were supporting the authors appropriately.

OmmWriter is my favourite, because it’s so serene and there’s not much to do but write.
